Pakistan Foreign Investments grew 323% in Q1 of FY22

Pakistan Foreign Investments grew 323% to $1.3 billion in Q1 of FY22

Pakistan Foreign Investments in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2021-2022 insanely increased by 323% to $1.3 billions as compared to $311 million in the corresponding period of fiscal year 2020-2021.

Most Foreign Investment in Pakistan has been done majorly by chinese investers. Chinese investetment in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2021-2022 is $74 million.

While USA Invested $72 million and Netherlands Invested $60 million in the first quarter of the Fiscal year 2021-2022.

The top foreign investments was recieved in Pakistan power sector with the total of $131 million.

In the seconf place, Pakistan financial businesses recieved foreign investment of $100 million.

In the third place, Pakistan communication sector recieved foreign investment of $88 million.

Foreign Investment on the account of portfolio investment grew by $941.6 millions to $979 millions in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2021-2022 as compared to $37.4 million portfolio investment in the corresponding period of the fiscal year 2020-2021.

However, Foreign direct investment in the real estate sector decreased by 4% to $439 million in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2021-2022 as compared to the corresponding period of the fiscal year 2020-2021. This was due to poor economic conditions in Pakistan after Covid-19 outbreak.

But Government of Pakistan is hoping that FDI in real estate sector will also imptove due to record low covid-19 cases in the last month due to high number of vaccination drive.
