ECB – England Cricket Board apologised to PCB – Pakistan Cricket Board on the cancellation of the Pakistan tour. Ian Watmore the chairman of ECB assured the Pakistan board that the England team will have a full tour of three Tests and five ODIs next year in Pakistan.
The chairman of ECB in the first public statement after the cancellation of Pakistan’s tour, said “I’m very sorry to anyone who feels hurt or let down by our decision, particularly in Pakistan. The decision the board made was an extremely difficult one and the board made it with the primary consideration being the welfare and mental health of our players and staff.”
Furthermore, he said that he was explaining that no player was consulted before the decision was made by the board. He further said, “We’ve recommitted to a proper tour, a scheduled tour, of Pakistan next year.”
