PCB to Launch “Cricket Scholarship Program”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) works with Aitchison College to start a bursary program through which three excellent young cricketers from the PCB Pathway Program are provided annually with cricket grants.

The 3 players are picked annually according to the predetermined criteria of the PCB. They will also include people without complete financial assistance who can’t afford to attend the school.

According to the declaration released by the board, when each selected child has fulfilled the college’s basic academic criteria, young players from grades 7 through to grades 9 are given seats at Aitchison College.

The selected children will get high-quality training and represent cricket Aitchison College teams on different levels while staying accessible in PCB-organized tournaments to represent their cricket organizations.

In the meantime, the PCB National High-Performance Centre is monitoring their cricketing growth to ensure that they keep on their way to becoming cricketers of high caliber.

Wasim Khan, the PCB CEO, said “There is a groundbreaking idea in the PCB-Aitchison College Cricket Scholarship project. The College has a wealth of world-class cricket manufacturing heritage and there is no greater example than our current Prime Minister and employer, Imran Khan. By giving these guys world-level education, we are able to improve the lives of these boys.”

“We want to assist the development of these future leaders via the mix of school excellence and cricket-quality programming. The eligibility criteria agreed to each other enabling us to evaluate and discover new cricketers every year.”

The announcement also indicated players’ names for the first cohort, which were: ‘Ahmed Hussain, 14 years old, from Peshawar, Ali Hasnain, 12, from Okara and Usman Khan, 13 years old from Peshawar.’ The statement also released the names of the players.

Ahmed scored 283 and 100 runs for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), respectively, and took 11 and 8 wickets. for both U13 and U16 scores. In the U13 competition, Ali won 274 runs for South Punjab, while Usman won 172 runs and claimed 5 KP U13 wickets.
