Are you tired of scrolling through the options on your car’s touchscreen? Mercedes-Benz has come up with a pretty futuristic solution.
The firm unveiled the latest edition of its Vision AVTR concept car, initially revealed at CES 2020, on Monday at the IAA Mobility 2021 event in Munich, Germany.
Mercedes-Benz claims that the automobile now includes technology that allows you to accomplish some activities just by thinking about them. It works on visual perception: light dots are displayed on the car’s digital dashboard, and a BCI (brain-computer interface) device with wearing electrodes is attached to the back of the user’s head.
After a brief calibration period, the gadget may record and evaluate brain activity, allowing the device to identify and do a certain action when the user focuses on a specific light on a dashboard.
We’re not talking about anything theoretical here; attendees to the IAA Mobility 2021 event may check out the technology for themselves by stopping by the Mercedes-Benz stand.
Mercedes-most Benz’s futuristic concept is the Vision AVTR (a reference to the film Avatar, in which the heroes may create a brain link with the natural environment on Pandora’s moon). The automobile lacks a steering wheel, has scaly-looking “bionic flaps” on its back, and wheels that can swivel far enough to allow the car to travel sideways, among other futuristic features.
