Government of Pakistan is planning to raise 700Million US Dollar for the National Space Program. This will be done by restraining the foreign satellite service. The National Command Authority, supervised by Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the program earlier. The federal cabinet has conferred the policies, that are impending to raise 600-700 Million US Dollars by 2030.

The government is planning to raise $700 million for the National Space Program (NSP) by limiting foreign satellite services.

Moreover, other countries of Asia like China, India, Bangladesh have previously implemented the limited use of foreign satellites. This was due to the greater expenses of it. Hence, these countries now possess local satellites working successfully. Meanwhile, Pakistan Satellite Services is hoarding annual deficits worth 22.48 Million US Dollars. On account of the complete absence of rules and regulations, all this deficit is observed.

National Space Program

Currently, the usage in Pakistan is roughly around 2200MHz from which 21% is provided through Pakistani Satellites. The share of 79% in the capacity usage of the requirements of Foreign Satellites is way more. The country pays an annual sum of 35 to 45 Million USD to the satellite benefactors.

Pakistan Satellite Program has been in oblivion for quite some years.  As a result of lack of facilitation from the government that makes it to rely on foreign services and not on domestic markets.

However, the policy strategies are drafted with inputs of Strategic Plans Division along with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and other stakeholders. The drafted policy was prepared by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication headed by Syed Amin-ul-Haque.
