PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari announced on Friday that his party has secured the necessary majority to form a new government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The declaration follows a joint move by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to submit a no-confidence motion against the current AJK Prime Minister, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad alongside senior PPP leaders, Bilawal refrained from revealing the name of the party’s candidate for the prime minister’s position, hinting that the official announcement would come from within AJK itself.
“Don’t worry, that announcement will be made from Kashmir, not Islamabad,” Bilawal remarked, underscoring the party’s confidence and strategic alliance with the PML-N.
The move signals a significant political shift in AJK’s leadership dynamics, as the PPP and PML-N strengthen cooperation to unseat the incumbent government and form a coalition-led administration.
