E-transfer for teachers in KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa introduces a new e-transfer system for teachers based on service length, student-teacher ratio, and performance to ensure transparency and merit.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet has approved a new e-transfer policy for teachers, aiming to promote merit, transparency, and efficiency in teacher postings across the province.

Under the policy, teacher transfers will be determined based on several indicators, including:

  • Length of service at a particular school
  • Student–teacher ratio at the institution
  • Annual performance results

Chief Minister Suhail Afridi emphasized that the new digital transfer system is a crucial step toward ensuring a transparent and fair mechanism for teacher postings. He noted that the policy reflects the government’s commitment to merit-based administrative reforms in the education sector.

The CM also highlighted that teacher postings and transfers are currently on hold throughout the province. “We received over 400 recommendations for transfers, but none were approved,” he stated, reinforcing the importance of following the new merit-based system.

Furthermore, Afridi directed other departments to adopt similar merit-based transfer policies to strengthen transparency and fairness in administrative systems across KP.

The e-transfer policy is expected to streamline teacher transfers, reduce favoritism, and improve overall education standards in the province by ensuring that experienced and high-performing teachers are strategically placed where they are most needed.

This initiative aligns with KP’s broader education reform efforts and reflects a growing focus on data-driven, merit-based governance.
