LONDON: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar concluded a series of high-level meetings in the United Kingdom, reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to strengthen its strategic and bilateral ties with Britain.
During his meeting with UK Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, both sides reviewed the longstanding Pakistan-UK partnership and agreed to deepen cooperation across political, economic, and development sectors. Dar praised the contributions of the British Pakistani community, describing them as a vital bridge between the two nations, and extended an invitation to Angela Rayner to visit Pakistan.
In another engagement, Dar met the Commonwealth Secretary-General, congratulating her on her recent appointment. He reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to the Commonwealth’s shared values, sustainable development, and the global fight against climate change. He also extended an invitation for her to visit Islamabad to further enhance cooperation.
Later, Dar interacted with a delegation of PML-N UK, where he emphasized the importance of overseas Pakistanis as a national asset. He acknowledged their role in supporting Pakistan diplomatically, economically, and politically. The delegation congratulated him on Pakistan’s effective diplomatic outreach and the PML-N’s recent political milestones.
Dar’s visit underlined Pakistan’s efforts to expand its diplomatic footprint, foster stronger ties with key international partners, and engage with the Pakistani diaspora in the UK, who continue to play a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral relations.
