On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi urged the international community to ask Israel to stop attacking Palestinians. To take meaningful measures toward resolving the conflict.

The foreign minister arrived in New York on Wednesday evening for a Palestinian peace mission and to attend an emergency. UNGA meeting called by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League.

Pakistan has joined forces with Palestine, Sudan, and Turkey to take a unified stand at today’s United Nations General Assembly session. This is the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic paralyzed the world that foreign ministers will be physically present at a UN conference. In the aftermath of the pandemic, the UN had been having virtual meetings.

During the holy month of Ramadan, he said, Israel launched a deliberate and systematic attack on Palestinians. Worshippers at the Al Aqsa mosque, breaching the holy site’s sanctity.

The foreign minister also denounced Israel’s policy of expanding illegal settlements. Forcibly evicting Palestinians from their homes, and demolishing their homes without repercussions.

Qureshi thanked all brotherly OIC countries, as well as Pakistan, for their constructive role in convening the UNGA special meeting.

The foreign minister’s visit to New York, according to a statement released by Pakistan’s UN mission. Was part of Pakistan’s intensive diplomatic outreach to rally international support for ending Israel’s ongoing aggression against Palestinians.

Today, Pakistan’s foreign minister will speak at a special session of the United Nations General Assembly. Emphasizing Pakistan’s position on the subject.

After a week of the deadly cross-border conflict, the UNGA session comes after an intensive international attempt to negotiate a truce in the occupied Palestinian territories.
