Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has underlined the pivotal role of Pakistan’s private sector in driving long-term economic growth and ensuring sustainable development.

Speaking to media representatives in Karachi, the minister stressed that economic recovery cannot be achieved without active leadership from the private sector. “As the economy recovers and we move towards sustainable growth, the private sector will have the most important role in moving the country forward,” he said.

Aurangzeb highlighted the immense potential in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), tourism, and youth employment. He noted that AI is opening new avenues for innovation and productivity but reminded that “there is no shortcut to hard work for humans.”

On tourism, he emphasized that the sector can become a major driver of growth if people from all backgrounds and communities collaborate to promote it. “Tourism has huge untapped potential, and its development can generate countless new opportunities,” he remarked.

During his visit to a job fair in Karachi, the minister lauded the initiative, describing such platforms as crucial for bridging the gap between young graduates and employers across both government and private institutions. He encouraged youth to sharpen their skills, focus on hard work, and actively contribute to national progress.

On the macroeconomic front, Aurangzeb credited the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for effectively managing inflation, noting that “the situation will improve further in the coming years.” He also underlined that Pakistan has regained credibility with international credit rating agencies, a reflection of improving macroeconomic stability. “For the first time, three agencies have come together and trusted Pakistan,” he added, describing it as a sign of growing economic resilience.
