On June 13, 2025, the Sindh government unveiled the Budget 2025-26, announcing a series of financial relief initiatives for its public employees. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who also serves as the province’s finance minister, presented the budget to the provincial parliament.

The government has sanctioned a 12% ad hoc salary rise for personnel in grades 1 to 16 and a 10% raise for those in grades 17 to 22. Moreover, pensions for retired provincial personnel will increase by 8%. The amendments will be implemented on July 1, 2025. The federal government had already declared a 10% pay augmentation for federal employees in grades 1 to 22 and a 7% pension increase for the same fiscal year.

In his budget address, CM Shah emphasized the government’s dedication to assisting differently-abled personnel by augmenting their transportation stipend. He characterized the budget as “comprehensive,” underscoring its significance in realizing Sindh’s unexploited potential.

The overall expenditure for the Annual Development Program (ADP) for the forthcoming fiscal year is Rs1,018 billion. Of this amount, Rs520 billion is designated for the Provincial Annual Development Program (ADP), supplemented by money from the District ADP, Foreign Project Assistance (FPA), and Federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) awards. Significant allocations comprise Rs102.8 billion for education, Rs45.4 billion for health, Rs84 billion for irrigation, and Rs132 billion for local government activities.

These steps demonstrate the Sindh government’s commitment to offering financial assistance to its employees and retirees while simultaneously investing in the province’s advancement.
