Islamabad: The Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, has announced the official Fitrana and Fidya rates for Ramazan 2025, ensuring that Muslims across the country can fulfill their religious obligations appropriately.

Fitrana & Fidya Rates for Ramazan 2025

The minimum amount for Fitrana (Zakat al-Fitr) and Fidya (compensation for missed fasts) has been set at Rs220 per person, based on wheat prices. However, individuals can choose to pay higher amounts based on other staple commodities:

  • Wheat: Rs220 per person
  • Barley: Rs450 per person
  • Dates: Rs1,650 per person
  • Raisins: Rs2,500 per person
  • Dried Grapes (Munakka): Rs5,000 per person

Dr. Naeemi urged financially well-off individuals to contribute generously rather than sticking to the minimum rate, ensuring greater support for the needy. He also emphasized that Fitrana is mandatory for every Muslim, regardless of age, gender, or financial status.

Fidya Rates for Those Unable to Fast

For individuals who cannot observe fasting during Ramazan due to illness or other valid reasons, the Fidya (compensation for missing 30 fasts) has been set as follows:

  • Wheat: Rs6,600
  • Barley: Rs13,500
  • Dates: Rs49,500
  • Raisins: Rs75,000
  • Dried Grapes (Munakka): Rs150,000

Kaffarah (Expiation) for Breaking a Fast Intentionally

Dr. Naeemi explained that anyone who intentionally breaks a fast without a valid reason must either:

  1. Fast continuously for 60 days, or
  2. Feed 60 needy people two meals a day.

He also clarified that individuals using government-subsidized flour can pay Rs160 as Fitrana or Fidya.

This announcement provides clarity for Muslims looking to fulfill their obligations and support those in need during the holy month of Ramazan 2025.
