The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) has arrived in Pakistan to participate in the multinational Shield of Sindh 2024 exercise, a significant military event that brings together air forces from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkiye. This comprehensive training exercise is being held at Mushaf Air Base.
Lt. Gen. Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the commander of the RSAF, oversaw the departure of the Saudi contingent from King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Eastern Sector. Prior to takeoff, he conducted a thorough inspection of the equipment and received detailed briefings on the operational readiness of flight crews, technical teams, and support personnel. The Saudi contribution to the exercise includes a squadron of six Tornado aircraft.
In a statement regarding the exercise, Lt. Gen. Abdulaziz emphasized its multifaceted objectives: “Our participation in Shield of Sindh 2024 strengthens our ties with Pakistan and the other participating nations. It also serves as a platform to showcase the exceptional capabilities and professionalism of the Royal Saudi Air Force, while providing our air and support crews with valuable combat experience in unconventional and electronic warfare environments.”
This joint exercise highlights the collaborative efforts of the involved nations to enhance regional security and military cooperation.
