Pakistan’s squash player Asim Khan has advanced to the finals of the Charlottesville Open Squash tournament after defeating Mexico’s Cesar Salazar in the semi-finals. Continuing his impressive form, Asim triumphed in straight sets with scores of 11-5, 11-5, and 11-4.

His semi-final victory secures him a place in the final, where he will face England’s Nick Wall for the championship title. The Charlottesville Open, held in Charlottesville, Virginia, features top players from around the world and boasts a prize fund of $28,750.

Asim aims to add another international squash championship to his accolades. Earlier in the tournament, he reached the semi-finals by defeating Egypt’s eighth seed, Aly Hussein, in straight games, winning 11-3, 11-5, and 11-9.

In a previous match, Asim staged an impressive comeback against Brazil’s Diego Gobbi, overcoming a two-game deficit to win 3-2. After losing the first two games 5-11 and 9-11, he rallied to claim the next three games 11-8, 11-8, and 11-8.

Earlier this year, Asim won the Jones Creek Open Squash Championship, defeating fellow countryman Ashab Irfan. He has also secured titles at the Wild Card Challenger in Washington and the Squash Inspire Challenger.
