PARIS: Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem is set to travel to Paris today, accompanied by his coach Salman Butt, to attend the ongoing Paralympic Games.
The javelin thrower, who made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics, expressed his excitement about returning to the city that holds special significance for him. “Paris will always be a special place for me,” Nadeem remarked, reflecting on his memorable victory.
Nadeem’s visit to Paris is aimed at showing support for fellow Pakistani athletes competing in the Paralympic Games. The champion’s presence is expected to boost the morale of the athletes as they represent Pakistan on the global stage.
Earlier this year, Nadeem captured the world’s attention by winning the gold medal in the javelin throw at the Paris 2024 Olympics, with a record-breaking 92.97-meter throw. His historic achievement ended a 32-year Olympic gold medal drought for Pakistan, sparking celebrations across the nation, especially in his hometown of Mian Channu.
Nadeem secured his place in the Olympic final with an impressive 86.59-meter throw in the qualifying round, setting the stage for his historic victory.
