PTA Receives Bids from Five Global Firms for 5G Consultancy

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has moved closer to launching 5G services in the country, receiving technical bids from five international companies for consultancy services. This initiative is part of PTA’s broader efforts to enhance Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) in Pakistan.

The companies that have submitted their bids include Aetha Consulting Limited, Detecon Consulting FZ-LLC, Frontier Economics Limited, KomKonsult (Private) Limited, and National Economic Research Associates Inc. The PTA will now evaluate these technical bids and will request financial bids from the shortlisted firms.

Following a thorough evaluation of both technical and financial proposals, the PTA will select a consultancy firm to develop a comprehensive report on the launch of 5G services in Pakistan. The process will be conducted in accordance with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules.

The final report, prepared in consultation with various stakeholders, will lay the groundwork for the introduction of 5G services, which the Government of Pakistan aims to launch by April 2025. The introduction of 5G is anticipated to bring numerous benefits, including faster data speeds, enhanced connectivity, and greater economic opportunities for the country.
