Sweden, renowned for its rich historical, natural, and cultural attractions, ranks among the top tourist destinations in Europe, attracting visitors from around the globe for leisure and exploration. While some enjoy visa-free entry, most travelers need a short-term Schengen visa to enter the country.

Schengen Visa Application Process

Pakistani citizens, along with Afghan nationals and legal residents of Pakistan, must apply for a Schengen visa through the Swedish Embassy. As of July 2024, the visa fee remains unchanged at 80 Euros, with potential adjustments expected in the near future.

Financial Requirements

Among the various prerequisites, applicants must demonstrate proof of financial means and strong ties to their country of residence, illustrating their social and economic status in Pakistan.

Minimum Bank Statement for Sweden Visit Visa

Applicants are mandated to submit bank statements covering transactions from the past six months, authenticated with the bank’s stamp and signature, along with their visa application. These statements must reflect the financial capacity to cover the expenses of their stay in Sweden.

Daily Required Amounts

To ensure financial sufficiency during their stay in Sweden, applicants must show a daily required amount, calculated as follows:

  • Sweden: EUR 80 per day

For instance, an applicant planning a 30-day visit to Sweden would need to demonstrate EUR 2,400 in their bank account. As of July 16, 2024, with one euro equivalent to Rs303.49, Pakistani applicants are required to maintain Rs728,376 in their bank account at the time of visa application.

For the latest updates and detailed guidance on the visa application process, applicants are advised to consult the Swedish Embassy or authorized visa application centers.
