Anna Kim as a celebrity in the Korean Entertainment Industry has gained attention in the Pakistani Community. This popularity and speculation is attributed to the fact that the ethnically belongs to the land of Pakistan and yet stars in the Popular Korean Netflix Show “Super Rich.”
Early Years
Anna Kim is an epitome of the unique combination of Korean and Pakistani culture. Born in Islamabad, Pakistan, she moved to South Korea at the young age of 5 years old. Most of her childhood and youth was therefore spent in Seoul, South Korea. However, both her parents particularly belong to the subcontinent, Pakistan. Her father was a businessman. Her mother “Amina Kim” who was the Honorary Ambassador for the Republic of Korea at NUST and Chairperson at MeltingPot. Further, Anna has one sibling; a brother named Ali who also currently identifies as an entrepreneur. Considering that she spent all of her earlier life in Korea, she was schooled there too. From elementary to High school, Kim even attended a Korean University. Considering how she spent most of her life in Korea, Anna claims that she is “fully Korean”. Her lifestyle, mannerisms etc. are all from South Korea.
The Transition to Pakistan
As an individual raised in Korea, Kim was not well aware about her own history and the culture of the land she belonged to. In fact, following the stereotypical image of Pakistani’s globally and in Korea, Kim believed that Pakistan was full of terrorism. The unstable political, economic, and social conditions of the country was how she initially identified it. She had not acquired an opportunity to learn about the people of Pakistan until her parents sent her to Islamabad. In Islamabad, she joined NUML university where she taught a course about the Korean language. In return she was taught more and more about the culture and values of Pakistan.
After witnessing the environment herself, Anna was motivated to alter the distorted image of Pakistan in her home-country South Korea. In order to integrate the two cultures, Anna began various efforts in Pakistan and Korea to consolidate a reputable image.
Career and Achievements of Anna Kim
Super Rich in Korea
The current fame that she is receiving is particularly because of the Netflix show “Super Rich”. This show was released in Korea on May 7, 2024. Super Rich is a reality show that is hosted by the fashion-savvy Cho Saeho, Korean rapper BamBam, and Oh My Girl’s Mimi.This show consisted of 5 individuals that were generally considered extremely rich in the Korea. Out of these 5, only one was native to the Korean Land. Anna Kim was a part of this series as one of these rich individuals. Her role in it has sparked curiosity in the community of Pakistan.
Entrepreneur
Before heading on this journey of entrepreneurship, Anna worked in the Pakistan embassy 2012. A few years down the line, she began establishing her own businesses and is currently the Founder & CEO of Anna Korean Beauty, Kim Production, and Kim Traders. As per the website, Kim traders is, “a comprehensive business solution provider, committed to helping businesses thrive in the region. With our extensive network and expertise, we can connect you with the right vendors and suppliers for your specific needs in real estate, commodities trading, and media production. Trust us to be your reliable partner in achieving your business goals.” Kim launched Anna Korean beauty in 2023 and is already on route to success.
Other than developing her ventures, Anna actively involved herself in the entertainment industry of Korea. Her first prominent achievement was when she managed the shooting of the song “Hit the Bass”. She insisted the director to shoot the video in Pakistan, taking full responsibility and succeeded in her effort. Other than this, she partook in Korean talk shows, Youtube videos etc. boosting her fame. Currently she is also a social media influencer.
Thus, her journey behind making it to the popular Netflix show is absolutely worth acknowledging and should not go unnoticed.
