Experienced New Zealand batsman Grant Bradburn has declared his retirement from the position of the team’s high-performance coach, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to work with the Pakistan national cricket team and its coaching staff.
Originally appointed as the head coach for a two-year term by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in May of the previous year, Bradburn saw a change in the coaching staff’s portfolio, including his role, announced by the PCB in November 2023.
Despite the alteration, Bradburn continued to contribute to the cricketing landscape as all coaches were redirected to the National Cricket Academy. The PCB assured that the new coaching staff for the upcoming series in Australia and New Zealand would be revealed in due course.
Having coached the Pakistan team during the 2023 World Cup, the 57-year-old Bradburn took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to formally announce his retirement from coaching.
In his announcement, he reflected on his five-year journey with Pakistan cricket, encompassing three distinct roles, expressing pride in the achievements and gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with exceptional players, coaches, and staff.
