Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL) has achieved a significant milestone by becoming Pakistan’s third-largest cement manufacturer with the successful commissioning of its Greenfield Cement Manufacturing Plant in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab. The company notified the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) of this development on Thursday.

In an official statement, FCCL announced, “We are pleased to inform that FCCL has successfully commissioned its Greenfield Cement Manufacturing Plant on 30 November 2023, having a production capacity of 6,500 tons per day of clinker at Shadan Lund, district Dera Ghazi Khan.”

This new facility has propelled the company’s annual cement production capacity to 10.6 million tons, firmly establishing Fauji Cement Company as the nation’s third-largest cement producer. Notably, the Greenfield Project was completed in a record-breaking 13 months.

FCCL highlighted that the project incorporates state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, along with emissions control features and a Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant. Beyond its industrial impact, the addition of this Greenfield Cement Plant in the economically challenged area of Shadan Lund in Southern Punjab is expected to not only provide employment opportunities for locals but also contribute to the overall development of the region.

Even before the plant’s commissioning, FCCL undertook significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, such as providing clean drinking water, healthcare facilities, and solar systems to the local community. These initiatives underscore the company’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of the people in the areas where it operates.
