Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the caretaker prime minister, met with British investors in London on Monday to discuss investment potential in Pakistan’s financial and capital markets, according to Radio Pakistan.

Among the renowned investment firms present during the meeting with the prime were Fidelity International Limited, Wellington Management, Ashmore, Jefferies International, Redwheel Capital, Switex Industrial SA, Oxford Frontier Capital, GuarantCo, JP Morgan, Kalrock Capital, and UBL UK.

The prime minister updated the group on Pakistan’s current economic condition, underlining government attempts to improve the country’s external balance.

The premier also highlighted economic improvements such as reduced inflation with expected sustained decline, and upcoming growth in agriculture and industry.

He mentioned improved trade after the removal of restrictions on imports and fiscal measures for monetary support and medium-term inflation targets.

PM Kakar also emphasized Pakistan’s investment-friendly initiatives by forming the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

He noted improved trade when import restrictions were lifted, as well as fiscal measures for monetary assistance and medium-term inflation targets.

PM Kakar also highlighted Pakistan’s pro-investment actions by establishing the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

The premier briefed the group that the plan streamlines investment procedures while simplifying the business climate.

British investors inquired about the continuation of the IMF plan in Pakistan as well as short to medium-term reform measures.

PM Kakar assured them that Pakistan has proved its commitment to the IMF plan by making adjustments stipulated in the lender’s agreement.

PM Kakar met with Jakob Stausholm, CEO of Rio Tinto Group, a global powerhouse in the mining and minerals industries, last week and invited him to Pakistan to discuss investment potential.

The prime minister asked Rio Tinto Group to consider investing in Pakistan’s mining and mineral sector during his meeting with Jakob Stausholm in New York.
