The Swiss government, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, has announced the ‘Excellence Scholarship for Pakistani Students’ for the 2024-25 academic year.

Scholarships for one-year post-masters research, three-year post-masters, PhD, and one-year Post-Doctoral Programmes (PDP) for ambitious students have been announced, according to HEC local chapter sources.

The deadline for submitting applications to the Swiss embassy is September 30. More information is accessible on the official website, according to HEC local sources.

The principal objective of the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships is to provide educational opportunities for international researchers pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in Switzerland.

Scholarship awardees will be selected by the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students.

Separately, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a Scholarship Programme for Gilgit-Baltistan students interested in studying at top Pakistani universities or institutions.

According to an HEC official, applications have been requested from outstanding Gilgit-Baltistan students planning to pursue undergraduate courses (four/five years BS programmes) at HEC-recognized public sector universities/degree awarding institutions (DAIs).

Under the project titled “Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for Students of Gilgit-Baltistan in Top Pakistani Universities/Institutions (Batch-III),” scholarships are being granted in all fields of study or disciplines for the academic year 2023-24.

The official stated that the applicants must have a Gilgit-Baltistan domicile or local certificate and have completed a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)/ Equivalent.
