It has almost been a month since the official launch of Meta’s new microblogging social network; Threads. The social platform has been known to be updating numerous new features like a chronological feed and a built-in translation, since its launch. If you go to access the twitter clone, a spinning placeholder galaxy can still be found, but not anymore!
The news has come from the co-founder of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg. He has confirmed both advanced search and a web version ‘in the next few weeks’. Right now, you can only access threads through your mobile phones, so the most in-demand feature for now is the desktop version of the app.
For a brief moment last week, the threads user profile on the web showed a reply button that did nothing on the click. This gave off a major hint that the web version is on its way! It was further confirmed by the Instagram head, Adam Mosseri, that the Threads team is working on the web version of Threads.
The only thing users are able to search on Threads right now is other accounts, they are unable to search for specific posts and words but that is not going to last long either. The advanced search feature will help users search for any post and word they would like to search.
