Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated several development projects totaling Rs20 billion in Islamabad on Tuesday as part of the Capital Territory’s Rural Development Package.

The Prime Minister opened the freshly constructed Margalla Avenue as part of the package. The highway, which is 10.4 kilometers long, was constructed in eighteen months.

The Prime Minister was given a full briefing on the project at the time. He was informed that the building of this avenue would greatly reduce traffic on the Srinagar Highway and provide people with an alternate route to travel.

PM Shehbaz also dedicated and expanded the 7.5-kilometer-long Sikandar-e-Azam Road project. Noor-ul-Amin, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), briefed the Prime Minister on the project in detail.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister presented four vans to Pakistan Sweet Homes in order to provide the greatest transportation amenities to students studying there.

PM Shehbaz stated during the inauguration of Margalla Avenue that the government was taking meaningful initiatives under the Rural Development Package of Capital Territory Islamabad to ensure the success and prosperity of Islamabad and its suburbs.

Despite the last year’s challenges and crises, including the political crisis, the Prime Minister stated that the administration made frantic efforts and worked hard to accomplish these projects.

He stated that despite financial limits and obstacles, the administration has launched a slew of development projects in the last year.

He strongly criticised the previous administration, claiming that unwarranted delays in these projects amounted to criminal negligence.

The Prime Minister also praised the Frontier Works Organisation and the National Logistic Cell for their contributions to the country’s road network expansion.

While appreciating China’s helpful assistance in carrying out economic projects in Pakistan, he claimed that the PTI Chief harmed relations with China by making bogus accusations.

“We have to move forward by eliminating chaos and disorder in the country”, he said, lauding the financial assistance of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar for Pakistan.

The Prime Minister stated his willingness to make any sacrifice for the sake of the country.

While handing over vehicles to Sweet Home pupils, Shehbaz Sharif referred to them as the country’s most valuable asset and stressed his government’s commitment to providing all-out amenities to them at Sweet Home.

The Prime Minister also exhorted students to maximize their potential in order to acquire a good social standing and contribute to the country’s prosperity in the future.
