Pakistan and China have reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and agreed to expand and reinforce political and security cooperation, bilateral trade, economic and financial cooperation, cultural exchanges, tourism, and people-to-people ties.

Beijing held the third session of Pakistan and China’s bilateral political discussions (BPC). According to a news release from the Foreign Office Spokesman on Sunday, Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong headed the Chinese team, while Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan represented Pakistan.

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has already been operational for ten years, has been a fundamental pillar of bilateral cooperation and a sign of the growing relationship between Islamabad and Beijing. The two sides have reiterated their commitment to CPEC. They also decided to continue working on CPEC’s growth, including enlisting outside help to improve connectivity and collaboration in the region.

“Pakistan and China will also enhance high-level engagements and dialogue mechanisms and make the channels of communication even more robust,” the two sides agreed.

The foreign minister commended China for its consistent and generous support of Pakistan’s economic stability as well as for providing aid after the disastrous floods in 2022.

Pakistan, China ready to advance bilateral cooperation

China continues to support the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and economic security of Pakistan, according to vice foreign minister Sun.

The two sides expressed satisfaction at their close cooperation and engagement on significant regional developments, notably in Afghanistan, and engaged on a variety of regional and global subjects of mutual importance.

China and Pakistan would improve their communication and cooperation on multilateral platforms.
