Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has termed the speculations about Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programme ‘unfortunate and misleading’.

On Twitter, the prime minister said that the misleading speculations about Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programs were unfortunate as strict, foolproof, and multi-layered safeguards were in place, duly validated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). that the misleading speculations about Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programs were unfortunate as strict, foolproof and multi-layered safeguards were in place, duly validated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The misleading speculations about Pakistan's nuclear & missile program are unfortunate. The stringent, fool-proof & multi-layered security safeguards, duly testified by IAEA, are in place. Our nuclear program represents the unwavering consensus of the nation & is for deterrence.

He added “Strict, reliable, and multi-layered security measures, duly validated by the IAEA, are in place. Our nuclear program represents the unwavering consensus of the nation and serves as a deterrent,”

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had earlier made it categorically “Pakistan’s nuclear and missile program is a national asset that the state guards jealously. The whole program is completely safe, reliable, and without any stress or pressure, it is clear in a statement that Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programs were “completely secure, reliable and free from any stress or pressure”.

The “traditional routine visit” of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, was presented in a “negative spotlight”. the government stated that the program continued to serve the purpose for which the capability was developed fully.

Pakistan visit by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General (DG) Rafael Mariano Grossi in February to discuss cooperation between Pakistan and IAEA. It was Grossi’s first visit to Pakistan after assuming office in 2019.

Rafael Mariano Grossi praised the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear power plants and described the safety measures in the power plants as a first class at the seminar.

Pakistan’s capacity in setting up new nuclear power plants indicates a promising future for atomic energy and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals said the IAEA chief.
