Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal announced on Friday the government has launched an internship programme under which 60,000 young graduates from across the country would get paid internships.

The federal minister government announced in a statement that it was also giving scholarships to students who were accepted into the top 25 colleges in the globe.

The minister also mentioned that 100,000 college students would receive computers to help them become more innovative.

“In our previous tenure, we provided one million laptops that resulted in the promotion of free-lancing culture among the youth”, he added.

HEC all set to restore Prime Minister laptop scheme

Iqbal announced providing 20,000 scholarships to the country’s unemployed graduates last month. While speaking at an international meeting on higher education and workforce development in Islamabad, he made the announcement.

In addition, according to Ahsan Iqbal, scholarships will be given to students from remote regions of the nation as part of the Youth Development Initiatives (YDI), a programme that was recently introduced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The federal government agreed to reinstate the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme and other various programmes within the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, according to an earlier December 2022 announcement by SAPM on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khawaja (PMYP).
