The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Wednesday announced a reduction in power tariff by Rs7.43 per unit for K-Electric (KE) consumers on account of fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for November 2022.

During a public hearing to consider the monthly fuel adjustment (MFA) on a petition submitted by the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee, the tariff reduction was approved.

The decision would provide a relief of Rs10.61 billion to the power consumers, said Nepra.

Lifeline customers, domestic customers consuming up to 300 units, agricultural customers, and users of electric car charging stations are exempt from this requirement.

On the other hand, due to a monthly fuel adjustment, the National Electric Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) allowed an increase in the country’s power tariff of Rs0.19 per unit (MFA).

After a public hearing to review the monthly fuel adjustment (MFA) on a petition submitted by the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee, the increase in rate was granted.

The NEPRA has issued notification of the increases in electricity prices and the recent hike will be charged in the bills for January 2023, it added.
