Pakistan captain Babar Azam has not taken the field after suffering from flu on day Third of the opening Test against New Zealand, here at National Bank Cricket Arena on Wednesday.

In place of Babar, the team is now headed by the former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, while Mohammad Rizwan, the wicketkeeper batter, took to the field as a substitution fielder.

Besides the captain, Shan Masood and Salman Ali Agha are also not on the field.

Meanwhile, on Day 3, Pakistan achieved their first entry point when spinner Nauman Ali knocked out the first batter, Devon Conway, on 92.

Rewarded for the tight lines maintained this morning ☝️

Tom Latham and Kane Williamson are at the bat as New Zealand is batting at 197/1. The home team collected a decent 438 points in the first innings, but the competition is still in the balance thanks to a tie from the Kiwi team.
