CM launches healthcare projects worth Rs15 billion

Work has begun to give the people of Punjab with high-quality healthcare facilities, and 26 billion rupees have been allotted for a variety of projects to do so, all under the guidance of Chief Minister Ch Parvez Elahi.

In this regard, CM on Tuesday unveiled projects totaling more than 15 billion rupees. The Chief Minister’s Office served as the location of the launch ceremony.

The CM officially opened and laid the foundation for a number of projects while remarking on the record-breaking allocation of 26 billion rupees for the improvement of healthcare services. Nishtar Medical University Multan received a cyberknife machine worth Rs. 1.20 billion. 1.25 billion rupees were given to Allied Hospital Faisalabad to treat cancer patients using a linear accelerator machine, A linear accelerator machine will also be installed for cancer patients in Aziz Bhatti Sha­heed Teaching Hospital Gujrat at 1.30 billion rupees, he added.

The CM said that a new cardiac facility would be constructed along with the installation of cutting-edge equipment in Punjab’s cardiology hospitals. 200 more beds were being added at the Institute of Cardiology Wazirabad as part of an upgrade that cost five billion rupees. Heart patients were also given access to transit time flowmeters and gamma camera electrophysiological equipment. According to him, the site was purchased for Rs. 385 million with the intention of expanding the Institute of Cardiology Wazirabad.

According to him, a pharmacy was being created at PIC Lahore to provide patients with medications. The Institute of Cardiology in Lahore was installing a CT angiography system and a gamma camera (thallium scan) for 50 crores. In addition, the 6 billion rupee Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema Institute of Cardiology was built in Sargodha. At the cost of Rs. 700 million, the Ch Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology in Bahawalpur was receiving a CT angiography machine and gamma camera (thallium scan). At Lady Willingdon Hospital in Lahore, a 200-bed mother and child block is being operationalized at a cost of Rs. 5 billion, he added.

Parvez Elahi, the chief minister, said that the 26 billion dollars allocated for building the best medical facilities are a gift from the general public. He insisted that the government had been working hard for four months to modernize the health care system. He praised Provincial Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and her staff for delivering high-quality medical facilities.
