All tuition fees for Baloch and former Federally Administered Tribal Area (ex-FATA) students attending Islamia University Bahawalpur have been waived by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

In accordance with PM Shehbaz Sharif’s goal of encouraging young people to pursue higher education, Islamia University Bahawalpur will not impose any fees or dues on students from Balochistan and the former FATA.

According to the statement from the PM Office, the federal government and Islamia University would each cover 50% of the costs associated with the education of the students from the two regions.

By helping the young people from Balochistan and the former FATA, the decision was made with the intention of fostering integration and nation-building.

Along with the cancellation of the notifications that were issued to the expelled students, the restoration of those students was also ordered by PM Shehbaz Sharif.

A fee deferral for two semesters would be granted to students from flood-affected areas enrolling in public and private universities, according to a statement made earlier in September by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed.

All public and private institutions, according to the HEC Chairman, are striving to assist residents of the flood-affected areas. He also noted that veterinary schools have been instructed to assist livestock in these damaged areas.

He also announced that the higher education commission was also working out a proper plan for compensating the universities in the flood-hit areas.
