England’s Graham Gooch previously held the record for most runs scored against Australia in an ODI series.

Imam-ul-Haq, the Pakistani opener, has set a new world record for most runs scored in an ODI series against Australia.

Graham Gooch of England, who made 289 runs against Australia in 1985, formerly held the record. In Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, though, the resurrected 26-year-old Imam-ul-Haq put in three spectacular performances against the Kangaroos.

Imam-ul-Haq scored 298 runs in 3 ODIs to lead Pakistan to a historic series victory over Australia. Against Australia despite Pakistan’s loss in the first One-Day International, Imam-ul-Haq managed to score 103 runs.

The opener delivered a brilliant performance in the second ODI, scoring 106 runs and guiding Pakistan to their first ODI win of the series with Babar Azam. In the third and final One-Day International, Pakistan chased down Australia’s modest mark, with Imam-ul-Haq scoring 89* runs and remaining unbeaten.

Thanks to some amazing efforts by Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq, Pakistan was able to win the ODI series against Australia by a score of 2-1. Imam-ul-Haq had already broken Hashim Amla’s record of hitting nine centuries in the least number of games. The Pakistan cricket team will now play a one-off T20I match against Australia to conclude their historic series.
