The Balochistan cabinet approved the launching of a health card for over 1.8 million people throughout the province on Saturday.
In Quetta, this decision was taken at a cabinet meeting, which was led by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo. The conference was attended by provincial ministers, secretaries, and other high-ranking officials.
According to Balochistan Secretary of Health Noorul Haq Baloch, “every family would be provided a universal Rs.1 million coverage to seek excellent and timely health treatment at public and private sector hospitals.”
Every individual having a computerized national identity card (CNIC) and who is a permanent resident of the province, he added, will be given a health card.
After the cabinet meeting, CM Balochistan Mir Quddus Bizenjo addressed a news conference, saying that the government achieved history by launching health care to help the people across the province. He stated that his cabinet members had all praised his government’s decision on the health card.
The former provincial government, led by Jam Kamal, held extensive deliberations with the health ministry of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and the federal health ministry before launching a health card to help deserving patients.
