Daraz, South Asia’s biggest e-commerce platform, is offering Pakistan’s first in-app shoppable Livestream functionality to improve users’ experiences. Daraz’s real-time material will be available to consumers starting today, thanks to Livestream technology, allowing for more interactions between vendors and buyers.

In addition to the Livestream function, the redesigned user experience will allow consumers to interact directly with merchants via comments in real-time and will include a variety of content such as product displays, trivia games, and Q&A sessions.

These new capabilities are supported by Daraz’s dedication to assisting local companies in transitioning to new digital business models, as the epidemic continues to have a negative impact on brick-and-mortar retail. Sellers will be able to provide tailored shopping experiences and develop trusted relationships with customers by combining entertainment with quick purchases.

According to Syed Murtuza Hasan Askari, Project Lead of Daraz Live, the new feature would transform Pakistan’s e-commerce sector as well as customers’ online purchasing experiences and habits.

“In-app shoppable Livestream technology has made tremendous gains in Asia and Western markets, and we are pleased to offer the notion of in-app shoppertainment to Pakistan for the first time. The adoption of this technology in South Asia reflects the region’s enhanced e-commerce infrastructure and demonstrates that the region is on the right track toward digital transformation, according to Mr. Askari.

South Asia’s e-commerce sector has developed significantly in the last year, pushed by the implementation of COVID-19, with firms increasingly resorting to alternate platforms to maintain operations. Daraz is taking the next step in the region’s e-commerce effort by adopting new technologies that provide a smooth purchasing experience as more people join the ecosystem.

“As one of the most trusted and prominent e-commerce platforms in South Asia, Daraz is dedicated to advancing digital change in the markets where we operate. Using cutting-edge technologies has allowed us to improve our platform’s capabilities while still keeping our promise to customers and merchants. Simultaneously, we are enabled to take the sector to new heights via the adoption of cutting-edge innovations,” said Ammar Hassan, Daraz’s Chief Marketing Officer.
