The Sindh government issued an updated notification on Monday, placing a ban on indoor dining in Karachi and Hyderabad, the province’s most populous metropolitan areas, over fears of COVID-19 spread.

The provincial home department’s modified announcement states that the restriction on indoor eating would remain in effect for Hyderabad and Karachi, but outside dining will be permitted until 10:00 p.m.

Other areas in the province, on the other hand, are permitted to operate indoor and outdoor dine-in establishments with a minimum of 50% attendance.

Yesterday, it was announced that the Sindh government amended its Covid rules, maintaining some limitations in place but allowing other relaxations, such as 50% indoor dining for individuals who have been completely vaccinated.

The basic products will be accessible across the province 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as will pharmacies and immunization clinics.

According to the new standards, all commercial activities and marketplaces in Karachi and Hyderabad would be open till 8 p.m. The two statutory trade holidays in Karachi are Friday and Sunday. Friday and Saturday are holidays in Hyderabad.

In addition, CNG stations around the province will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Those who wish to dine indoors in restaurants must maintain their immunization cards, according to Sindh home department norms.

Indoor marriages are still prohibited in Karachi and Hyderabad, while open-air weddings are limited to 300 people.

Until additional notification, the tombs and shrines in Karachi and Hyderabad will stay closed.

The Sindh government has declared that passengers who do not have COVID immunization would be denied access to public transportation beginning September 15.
